CM Inaugurates Seven High Grid Substations in Odisha

On 21 May 2021, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated six high power grid substations in Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, Keonjhar and Khordha districts and the Bolangir-Kesinga 220 kV transmission line via video conferencing.

These high seven projects have constructed with an investment of Rs 450 crore. The projects are likely to be helpful in prodviding quality and reliable power supply to the wider part of the state. The new system will be especially beneficial for farmers, students and women of Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar, Sambalpur and Khurda districts. Also, this will be helpful for small industries and irrigation projects.

The state has initiated the Odisha Distribution System Strengthening project with an investment of Rs 3,800 crore to provide quality electricity supply to the people. Under this project, till now, 430 numbers of 33/11 kV substations have been operationalized.

Meanwhile, to overcome the low-voltage problem in the State, the state government has earmarked Rs 1,800 crore in the fourth phase of this project.
