Kitex plans apparel manufacturing unit at Gopalpur

Kerala-based Kitex Garments Limited has proposed to set up an apparel manufacturing unit by investing an amount of Rs 177 crore at Gopalpur in Ganjam district of Odisha.

The proposal came through Odisha’s Single Window for Investor Facilitation and Tracking (GO-SWIFT) portal. The project will focus on employment of the women, and is likely to create employment opportunity for over 5,000 people. The project proposals submitted on GO-SWIFT to set up manufacturing units envisage a cumulative investment commitment of Rs 18,208 crore with an employment potential of over 29,000 people. This was the 300th investment proposal which came through GO-SWIFT, launched during November 2017. 

The GO-SWIFT portal is very investor friendly. And due to the significant ease of application and expeditious approval process in the portal, the number of investors have been increased significantly. During the last 8 months, more than 3,890 industries have registered on GO-SWIFT portal to avail various kinds of services.

Some of major proposals received and approved by the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority during the last eight months include Manpasand Beverages, ITC Foods, Apar Industries Ltd, Sri Malani Foams, Vedanta, Lalchand Resorts, JSW Cement, Gokul Agro and Jindal Aluminium.
