Adani plans port in Paradip

The Adani Group proposes to set up a port near Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district of Orissa at an investment of Rs 10,000 crore.

The port project called Adani Kalinga Port is to be developed in two phases having a capacity of 100 million tpa.

According to sources, the group intends to invest Rs 5,000 crore in Phase I and an equivalent amount in Phase II. The port which is expected to have 12 berths, will handle coal, iron ore, liquid and containerised cargo.

The group also plans to develop an industrial zone in the port area. Plans are afoot to develop a road and railway network within the port as well.
