Public sector undertaking Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL) commenced steel billets production from its state-of-the-art Steel Melting Shop (SMS) at its Kalingnagar plant on 7th December.
With this, the company has added steel billets to its varied product portfolio and will help fuel its turnaround plans. Earlier in April, the company had completed its blast furnace capital repair work.
Meanwhile, the company is planning to commence production of TMT and Wire Rod very soon. NINL is also expecting to commence operation of captive mines at Koira by March 2019.
NINL is the country’s biggest producer and exporter of pig iron.
