Fakir Mohan Medical College Inaugurated

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik inaugurated Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital in Balasore district of Odisha on 4th September 2018. This is the seventh State Government-run Medical College Hospital (MCH) in the state. With the new MCH, the number of medical seats in the State has gone up to 1,050 from 321 in 2000.

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Odisha Health & Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena and other dignitaries were also present in the inaugural ceremony.

The admission for 100 MBBS seats for 2018-19 academic session has already begun in the medical college.

The Centre has sanctioned Rs 558.6 crore for MCHs that were approved for Balasore, Baripada, Balangir, Koraput and Puri. It has been decided to establish one medical college each under Bhadrak, Jajpur and Dhenkanal parliamentary constituencies.

Mr. Patnaik had recently inaugurated the much-awaited Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir on 31 August 2022.
