India’s first National Skill Training Institute at Barang

Union Minister for Skill Development, Mr.Dharmendra Pradhan, on 16 July 2018 laid the foundation stone for India’s first National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) at Barang, near Bhubaneswar.


The proposed NSTI will provide the skill training to trainers. This center is likely to create a skill based ecosystem to meet the industry demand. The training center will entail an investment of Rs 160 crore, spread over five acres of land. The new institution will also provide training to trainers of various Industrial Training Institutes and other skill-based education.

Meanwhile, an MoU has been signed with the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) for starting a temporary campus of NSTI, Bhubaneswar at NSIC’s premises, Mancheswar Industrial Area.
